CyKids (Cayman Cyber Kids) is a community programme dedicated to helping parents, children, and educators across the Cayman Islands navigate the digital world safely. We believe cybersecurity is not just a technical issue - it is a family issue. From the apps our children use every day to the way personal information can be exploited online, the risks are real and they are growing. CyKids exists to make sure no Cayman family faces them alone.
Social media is part of our children's lives - that is not going to change. But without proper awareness and guidance, everyday apps can open doors to cyberbullying, public embarrassment, identity theft, and online predators. CyKids provides parents and children with the knowledge and practical tools to use social media safely, responsibly, and confidently.
Children today spend an average of 7.5 hours a day across phones, tablets, gaming systems, and screens. Research consistently links this level of exposure to sleep disruption, reduced physical activity, and long-term behavioural challenges. CyKids helps families find the right balance - not by removing technology, but by building healthy habits around it.
Your mobile phone does not look threatening. But dig into the data and hundreds of red flags appear. From location tracking to data harvesting, the risks hiding in everyday devices are serious. CyKids addresses these threats one by one, creating real resources and real training to help Cayman families protect what matters most.
One of CyKids' core values is listening. Cybersecurity moves fast and new challenges emerge constantly. Through our programmes, events, and channels, we stay connected to what Cayman families are actually experiencing - and we work to find practical solutions as they arise. This is a community effort, and every voice matters.
